I guess yes, one could just assume that people won’t adopt #Bitcoin. And thus it’s completely manipulated by “Big Brother”, whose decisions we (and the models) aren’t privy to. Thus modeling the unknowable is like an exercise in futility.

Firstly, the EU is not a state.
Secondly they have not been elected.
Thirdly, no one can corroborate votes. As a wise man once said, it’s not who votes, it’s who counts the votes.
Lastly, even if votes were counted, democracy doesn’t work. Because of people:
1. People don't want freedom but safety: "The average man wants the peace of a hog in a comfortable sty."
2. Democracy INTENSIFIES groupthink: "Democratic man is quite unable to think of himself as a free individual; he must belong to a group, or shake with fear and loneliness."
3. Democracies are plutocracies; they're run by the aristocracy of money. But the plutocracy "lacks all the essential characters of a true aristocracy: a clean tradition, culture, public spirit, honesty, honor, courage—above all, courage. It is transient and lacks a goal."
4. The plutocrats lack "an aristocratic disinterestedness born of aristocratic security." He submits. He can be bullied and broken.
5. Democracies birth their intellectual apologists - Mencken calls them "pedagogues." These are not genuine thinkers; they’re "men chiefly marked by their haunting fear of losing their jobs." This describes most journalists.
6. Democracy is anti-excellence. Freud said we repress our sex drive as it’s frowned upon...but there’s nothing that democracy frowns upon more than a CLEAR proof of superiority. Democracy says "the most worthy & laudable citizen is that one who is most like all the rest."
7. Mencken explains how this era demands we repress our greatness: "A man who has throttled a bad impulse has at least some consolation in his agonies. But a man who has throttled a good one is in a bad way indeed. Yet this great Republic swarms with such men, & their sufferings are under every eye."
8. Mencken on the two worst crimes in a democracy: "There is only one sound argument for democracy, and that is the argument that it is a crime for any man to hold himself out as better than other men, and, above all, a most heinous offense for him to prove it."

2025-11-15 13:50:40 UTC

There aren’t enough nodes…I always felt good since I thought nodes decide.
They decide what they want to update and download and what not….
….turns out, the nodes are very passive, complacent, naive and also susceptible to a Sybil attack. Especially due to the low number. V30 only needs to spawn up couple of tausend nodes.
IMHO, it’s also not about the severity of the change, it’s that the development process is the preferred perimeter to attack (and I’m repeating someone else’s thoughts here):
- Cheaper than legislation: Defaults and "safety" framing do the enforcement work.
- Plausible deniability: "We're just improving performance".
- Asymmetric impact: hits sovereign users hardest; institutional wrappers unaffected.
Development-Process Capture = Perimeter Control
You don't have to "hack" Bitcoin's consensus rules to influence how the network behaves.
You can steer what gets relayed, mined, or socially accepted by quietly shaping the development process — who gets funded, who reviews changes, which features become defaults, how releases are timed, and how communication is framed.
If you expect for governments to come out and try to ban Bitcoin, don't because that's not how the system works.
Systems don't rely on bans; they use knobs — adjustable defaults, standards, and processes that subtly guide behavior.
The Bitcoin development process is a dense cluster of such knobs.
Open source ≠ immune
Control flows through funding, maintainers, policy defaults, and release cadence.
There are probably less than a 100 people in the world who have game theory studied:
- the development process control surfaces — where steering actually happens
- what capture looks like
- how capture changes outcomes
- why the development process is the preferred perimeter to attack
…it’s the only thing that can kill Bitcoin. Do now what? BIP444. Hard fork? Not good for adoption. Not good for THE monetary network of humanity.

According to your logic, the 21 million limit would be censorship.
You‘re confusing concepts. The word censorship applies to limiting the free exchange of ideas. Those ideas are exchanged in public squares (Nostr, X, Hyde Park). There should be no rules. Then there are market places (eBay, Amazon, Les Halle’s). Lots of rules. Then there’s money ( #bitcoin, gold). Two key criteria: Scarcity, immutability.
If you make Bitcoin into a public square, according to your logic, the 21 million would be censorship.
Are you confusing these concepts on purpose? Orwellian new speak?
