There's 1M active fedi users or so. If we all pledged $1 a month we could have $12M/yr of development of slop-free microkernel based OS with capabilities security and userspace daemons that lots of us could hack on. Of course, it'd help to get a lot of consensus on the project, but also a bunch of microkernel stuff is just out there as a baseline to start from.
It'd also work if 10% of us pledged $10/mo
