Traditional techniques say that "real GDP" in the US is at maybe 2x what it was in 2000, but my index says the US can only buy maybe 80% as much raw materials as it could in 2000.

Raw materials are both a competitive international market, and fairly immune to bullshitting... if you buy a ton of wheat or aluminum or copper you get exactly the same product in 2026 as in 2000. And everything we need economically requires raw materials. if not wood, aluminum, or copper then at least energy / fuel
