so, the doctor showed up with the bill for 3 weeks recovery after the emergency surgery on my broken fibia and tibia

$3000

and additionally that i have to pay that before he would give me back my passport. which i'm sure is not legal.

so anyway, i'm compelled to contact the netherlands embassy and ask them what to do about it. really, they should be able to reciprocal cover the bill, the same treatment there would be more like 5000 euros or twice the price. not hard to see the logic behind how they decide what the price is going to be. i'm pretty sure for locals this service costs around $1500 which i could afford.

yes i kinda got mad at the doctor for playing this trick with my passport, we'll see what the embassy says, i'm sure they aren't gonna be happy with kazakhstan or me, probably. but whatever. i entered on the passport, it's their job to deal with this kind of thing.

fingers crossed the dutch government just springs for the whole bill but says "uh, no, what would that cost if it was your citizen tho?" and pays that and i can get the fuck out of this shithole.

and yeah, definitely not unhappy about having health insurance although the level that i'm required to have for georgia is far beyond what i would realistically need, 30,000 GEL (about $11000) which - i mean, i don't think that much money has been spent on emergency medical care for me in my whole life and i'm not that careful but i have had a few nasty incidents.

fingers crossed the dutchies play nice with me and hardball with these tourist gouging silly persons.

i'm not a tourist, it makes me mad they all assume i'm a tourist i don't have a home, bro. i'm a nomad, bro. i'm here to work bro.
