Here is what has actually increased, or will increase, for French people in 2026:
Medical deductibles: from October 1, the annual cap goes from €100 to €140, i.e. +40%. The two sub-caps also go from €50 to €70.
Hospital: since March 1, the hospital flat fee has gone from €20 to €23 per day, i.e. +15%. In psychiatry, it has gone from €15 to €17.
Emergency department: the fee paid for an emergency visit without hospitalization has gone from €19.61 to €23, i.e. +17.3%.
Major medical procedures: the remaining patient charge flat fee for certain procedures has gone from €24 to €32, i.e. +33.3%.
Medical consultations: several tariffs have increased. A consultation for a child under 2 goes from €39 to €40. Certain mandatory examinations go from €45 to €50, or from €54 to €60. Coordinated psychiatry goes from €55 to €57, geriatrics from €37 to €42, gynecology from €37 to €40, melanoma screening from €54 to €60, certain endocrinology consultations from €58 to €62, neurology from €55 to €57, and physical medicine and rehabilitation from €36 to €40.
Psychiatry for those under 25: the surcharge goes from €12 to €18. An affected consultation can thus reach €75, compared with €67 previously.
Mutual health insurers: in a survey of 3,067 people, 98.52% of respondents said they had experienced an increase in 2026. The reported average increase reaches €106.21 per year.
Electricity: the regulated tariff increased by an average of 2.5% on August 1. For a household consuming 4,500 kWh per year, the typical annual bill goes from about €1,046 to €1,072, i.e. €26 more.
Gas: the average reference price increased by 15.4% in May, i.e. about €6.19 more per month for a typical profile on an indexed offer. A new increase of 7.4% occurred in July.
Gas in September: the benchmark price went from €162.89 to €172.05 per MWh incl. tax, i.e. +5.6%.
Gas on October 1: a new increase of 6.3% is announced, with a benchmark price that is to reach €182.88 per MWh incl. tax. For an average profile on an indexed offer, the impact is estimated at about €5.28 more per month.
Navigo: the monthly all-zone pass went from €88.80 to €90.80.
Metro, train and RER in Île-de-France: the ticket went from €2.20 to €2.55, i.e. +15.9%.
Bus and tram in Île-de-France: the ticket went from €2 to €2.05.
Airport ticket in Île-de-France: it went from €13 to €14.
Navigo Liberté+: the metro, train or RER journey goes from €1.99 to €2.04 and the bus or tram journey from €1.60 to €1.64.
Imagine R: the annual school pass goes from €384.30 to €393.30. Imagine R Junior goes from €16.80 to €17.20.
SNCF: TGV INOUI and OUIGO fares increased by an average of 1%.
Junior & Cie: the pass costs €3 more on all destinations.
Pets on trains: travelling with an animal on TGV INOUI or Intercités now costs €10, compared with €7 previously, i.e. +42.9%.
Transport in Toulouse: the single ticket went from €1.80 to €1.90, the monthly pass from €50.50 to €52.10 and the annual pass from €606.10 to €625.40. The airport ticket goes from €9 to €9.50, the 7-day pass from €17.50 to €17.90 and the 31-day pass from €58 to €59.
Transport in Nantes: the annual pass for 26-59 year-olds went from €549 to €565, that for under-26s from €249 to €255 and that for 60+ from €300 to €306. The monthly pass for 26-59 year-olds goes from €64 to €67.
Transport in Lyon: fares increased by an average of 1.72%. The City Pass for 26-64 year-olds on zones 1 and 2 notably goes from €74.10 to €75.90.
Transport in Rennes: the top-up of a rechargeable ticket goes from €0.10 to €0.20, i.e. +100%. The pass for 12-17 year-olds goes from €22.30 to €23.60 and that for 18-26 year-olds from €25.20 to €26.60.
Transport in Lille: the single ticket went from €1.80 to €1.90, the SMS ticket from €2 to €2.10, the book of 10 from €15.80 to €16.60, the day pass from €5.50 to €5.70 and the monthly all-public pass from €65 to €67.
Tolls: motorway toll rates increased by an average of 0.86%. The increase notably reaches 0.94% on APRR, 0.95% on AREA, 0.62% on ASF, 1.21% on Cofiroute, 0.62% on Escota, 0.70% on Sanef and 1% on SAPN.
Taxis: maximum fares increased by 1.38%.
Plane tickets: the solidarity tax included in ticket prices goes from €5.14 to €5.21 per passenger for European destinations and from €9.25 to €9.37 for certain more distant destinations.
Air ticket prices: in July, they were on average 3.2% higher than a year earlier. The increase reached 4.3% on international and 5.2% on long-haul.
Rents: the rent reference index rose by 1.15%. A rent of €600 excluding charges can thus go to €606.91 when a revision is provided for in the lease.
Real estate agency fees: the ceilings chargeable to tenants increased by 0.87%. They go to €12.10/m² in very tight zones, €10.09/m² in tight zones, €8.07/m² elsewhere and €3.03/m² for the inventory/check-in/out.
Property tax: the cadastral rental values used for its calculation increase by 0.8%. Rates have also increased in 4,731 municipalities.
Water in Grenoble: the price went from €3.41 to €3.42/m³.
Tourist tax in Paris: for a palace hotel, the maximum total goes from €15.60 to €15.93. For a 5-star hotel, it goes from €11.38 to €11.70.
Vehicle registration certificate in Île-de-France: the fiscal horsepower went from €54.95 to €68.95, i.e. +25.5%.
Vehicle registration certificate in Corsica: the fiscal horsepower went from €43 to €53, i.e. +23.3%.
Vehicle registration certificate in Nouvelle-Aquitaine: it goes from €53 to €58.
Vehicle registration certificate in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur: it goes from €59 to €60.
Vehicle registration certificate in La Réunion: it goes from €57 to €60.
Vehicle registration certificate in Hauts-de-France: it goes from €42 to €43. The exemption for electric vehicles there has also gone from 100% to 50%.
CO₂ penalty: the trigger threshold went from 113 to 108g/km. At 130g/km, the penalty goes from €540 to €983, i.e. +82%.
Maximum CO₂ penalty: the cap goes from €70,000 to €80,000.
Weight penalty: it now applies from 1,500 kg, compared with 1,600 kg previously. The scale reaches up to €30/kg from 2,000 kg.
Parking in Rennes: the post-parking fee in the red zone went from €40.60 to €41.60. In the green zone, it reaches €26.20, i.e. €0.80 more. Several resident rates have also increased.
Parking in Honfleur: the Bassin Est car park went from €6 to €8 per day, i.e. +33.3%.
Capital income: for the French people concerned, social levies go from 17.2% to 18.6%. The single flat-rate withholding tax thus goes from 30% to 31.4% on the income concerned.
Micro-entrepreneurs in BNC outside Cipav: the social contribution rate goes from 24.6% to 25.6% of turnover. On €1,000 received, this represents €10 in additional contributions.
ACRE: for the new micro-entrepreneurs concerned who are eligible, the aided rate goes from 12.8% to 19.2% in BNC, from 10.6% to 15.9% for certain BIC services and from 6.2% to 9.2% for sales.
CPF: the mandatory contribution went from €102.23 to €103.20 in January, then to €150 since April.

Childminders: the gross hourly minimum goes from €3.64 to €4.20, i.e. +15.4%. Another relevant collective agreement minimum goes from €3.79 to €4.37. The minimum maintenance allowance goes from €3.83 to €3.92, which can increase the cost borne by parent employers.
Domestic employees: the gross hourly minimum goes from €12.24 to €12.61. With paid leave included, the example goes from €13.46 to €13.87.
Illegal dumping: for fined persons, the reduced fine goes from €22 to €45, the fixed fine from €35 to €68, the increased fine from €75 to €180 and the legal maximum from €150 to €450.
Swimming pools of Vallée Sud Grand Paris: at the Blagis centre, entry goes from €4.90 to €5.50, i.e. +12.2%, and the annual subscription from €224 to €360. In certain other pools in the network, the annual subscription goes from €122 to €360.
