I wonder how this applies to trees planted as seeds vs transplants. I learned a couple years ago to mix some local soil into my seed starting mix to allow symbiotic microorganisms a chance to adapt a plant’s epi-genetics to the local strains, resulting in a stronger plant/fungi/bacteria relationship.
