Politics aside, here’s my perspective:
You can only serve one master. If you serve the “totalitarian society”, which I would also call “the beast”, you may get rich. Many billionaires took this path. They serve the beast and get rewarded financially.
On the other hand, you can have, at least theoretically, someone who gets rich without serving the beast. But the beast system will always attack you for being rich and serving Good.
I think my point is that it’s a spiritual choice more than anything else, whether people recognize it or not.
