October 2025- The default -datacarriersize parameter was removed, allowing OP_RETURN scripts to be as large as the maximum standard transaction size. There was pushback and no consensus on this change, yet it was done anyway. Since then it was proven this change was implemented to better accommodate scams like Runes. There was also a bug which deleted wallets and users bitcoin.
I’ve read that letter before… it’s a bunch of PR nonsense that doesn’t address any of the problems they cased months later. Plus every single one of those devs are non Bitcoiners and some were literally only maintainers because they slept with the founder of Brink (the funding org to core).
And for that last part… I like Luke and run knots/rdts so I’m not sure what you are referring to with that last line… ? Maybe you just have no clue what’s going on?
