the only thing that would make sense is a bluetooth based hardware signer or something that could sign things in realtime.

many applicates require very high decryption/signing throughput, like damus agentium that e2e encrypts all claude code user/assistant messages in realtime.

i have 360,000 of these notes in my notedeck at the moment. i generate sometimes tens of thousands per day.

remote signers just don't make sense except for very few low bandwidth and crude use cases.
It's not a fail. It's an impossibility. We can't send a network request for every auth, every decryption, every draft save the app does.

Amethyst more likely will NEVER work with remote signers over http/websockets. It's just too expensive. Data plans will go bust just on the back and forth.
