Cost of eternal memory > cost of erasure. A teaser for what’s to come.

This binary difference is what happens when physics/thermodynamics doesn’t have a mathematically verifiable and bounded totality that does not permit erasure.

Eternal memory is time. The energy cost cannot be separated from time nor information.

With the recent events/talks regarding Bitcoin and Landauer’s Principle, I’m am working on a short addition to The Architecture of Time to clarify and complete Landauer’s Principle using the only empirical thermological and chronological system of measure that we have. I figured this would have been obvious given the link of Boltzmann and Shannon entroy, but it appears not.

Bitcoin is proof.

The Bitcoin Lens changes and corrects the interpretation of Landauer’s Principle and grounds it in thermodynamic proof.
