And it’s not as though people who hate long posts can’t just skip them and read something else.

But I think the people who complain about long posts are largely status-driven and see long posts as a threat. They see effort as an attempt to establish authority. But rather than countering each point—because that would take effort—it’s easier to just dismiss effort as pedantic, self-important, and “sounds like AI”.
