This is why Monero is so great, because even if you do KYC yourself and buy Monero with that KYC, as soon as you withdraw it to your own self-custody, that link is broken forever.
However, most of the Monero community would never bow down to the pressures to use KYC to purchase their Monero at all anyway. And they do it through decentralized exchanges such as RetoSwap.
