i think its fair to say that scraping the artworks of millions of non-consenting individuals and using them to train AI, then telling the artists to "suck it up" is pretty fucked and doesnt do anyone any good. hell, not just artists. the fact that any image online is, by default, fed to AI now is pretty fucked. you shouldnt have to go to the settings tab in every social media to kindly ask (because honestly they still do it anyway, just without your consent) that your work isnt submitted to the SlopMachine. i wouldnt have a problem with it if they actually did it consensually but you and i both know thats not the case
