I understand why you’d do this. If 10,000 follows represent only 50 real relationships, the graph has stopped reflecting the life behind it.

But it also exposes an important problem: moving to a new npub isn’t merely generating another key. It can mean severing history, trust, and relationships, then hoping the right people find you again.

This is something I want Continuum to account for: preserving continuity across identities without carrying forward a social graph you no longer want. The keys may change, but the person, history, and meaningful relationships shouldn’t have to disappear.

I’d suggest posting a final pinned note from the old account along these lines:

Old npub → npub...
New npub → npub...

"This old npub is being deactivated. Please follow me at the new npub."

That would give people a clear, verifiable connection between the identities rather than leaving everyone to rediscover you by chance.
