I recently had to evaluate Claude and prompted it to explain why “dry drop metallurgy” was more efficient than prior techinques. Seven convincing sounding paragaphs produced on a non-existent technique.

I shudder to think how even very experienced developers could be fooled by such reasoning produced to justify one flawed source code production or another for domains in which they lack deep expertise.

This isn’t a “you’re holding it wrong” problem, rather: “unfit for purpose”.
