I love watching bprp basics because occasionally he drops a trick I've never been taught.

which is bigger, 2^126 or 3^84?

the thing he notes is you don't need the bases to be compatible, you just have to get the powers to be equal with some other base.

126 factors into 3x42. 84 factors into 2x42. rule of powers turns that into (2^3)^42 and (3^2)^42. so that's 8^42 and 9^42, which makes it obvious that 3^84 is bigger.
