Sekiro is much more about learning enemy patterns, reacting to attacks, maintaining pressure, and getting the timing right. Unlike other Soulsborne games by FromSoftware, you can't brute-force your way through the game with specific weapons or builds (although there are some skills you can spam against certain bosses). It's also a game where some bosses have an entire arsenal of attacks that can be parried, so parrying isn't exactly optional unless you're doing some sort of challenge run. My biggest criticism of the game, though, is that parrying is basically just a Simon Says game. It would be much more fun if it were direction-oriented like Metal Gear Rising.
