Weather models are tending to agree now that the track of Storm "Austen" will be straight up the middle of the English Channel.
Various yellow and amber wind and rain warnings are in effect across Ireland and United Kingdom for Friday. I expect more warnings will come into force across northern France soon.
I suspect some shipping in the English Channel will be disrupted due to this storm, and I expect many vessels will try to seek shelter in any leeward bays they can find. Due to the storm track right up the channel I expect these will be hard to find!
