Patience of Seasons (Taoist)

Nothing in nature is ashamed of taking time. Fruit ripens when it ripens. Gratitude includes patience with our own seasons—grief, growth, rest, work. We thank the winter for what it is doing underground instead of cursing it for not being July. The Tao does not hurry, and still nothing is left undone. Our thanks can learn that pace. Rushing is often a failure of trust in process.

"Who can wait quietly while the mud settles? Who can remain still until the moment of action?"
— Tao Te Ching, ch. 15
