Read an article that mentioned there are around 750 billionaires in the U.S. That got me thinking and I did some math. Using a list from Forbes, if we passed a law that that made it illegal to be a multi-billionaire, 600 people would have to forfeit their vulgar excess to a collective total of 5.8 trillion dollars. And still, each and everyone of them would have more money than they could spend.
A billionaire can spend $100K a day just from interest at 4%.
With $5.8B we could distribute $8.9M to every homeless person in America.
So yeah, taxing the rich could solve our homeless problem.
