for me personally, i just upgraded 1 TB node to 5 TB.
it's going to cost:
$110 for 5 TB hardrive
$20 for labor
$25 upgrade internet from 100 GB to 300 GB for the month
$155 to signal for Bip110 for 1 month.
$25 per month thereafter
i could be buying $155 of bitcoin, upon any potential chain fork, i could sell $155 of X token and buy Y token, thereby "voting"
what is more valuable?
1 node signaling for BIP110
or 155$ of selling X and buying Y?
I believe this is "Economic voting", and I'm unclear at what point does economic voting = node vote.
the question i'm asking myself is the following:
if the largest holders of Bitcoin could pay a cloud service to run bitcoin nodes of their choosing, how much bitcoin would they sell/forgo in order to attack the node network to maintain the network of their choosing...?
