Bitcoin’s resilience amid the CLARITY Act impasse exposes a limit to political authority: a global monetary network does not require Washington’s agreement to retain demand. "Reported market context" (https://www.barrons.com/articles/bitcoin-price-strategy-stock-cryptos-92194df2)

Price action alone cannot prove that the state is irrelevant. It can, however, challenge the assumption that legislative approval is the foundation of Bitcoin’s value.

Governments can influence access, institutional participation and the cost of doing business. Their decisions have consequences. But political uncertainty does not automatically erase the reasons people hold Bitcoin.

The distinction is between influence and indispensability.

Regulatory clarity matters to businesses operating within a jurisdiction. Bitcoin’s continued operation does not depend on that jurisdiction reaching clarity.

The longer political institutions confuse their power to regulate participation with the power to confer legitimacy, the more clearly they expose the limits of their role.
