mostly academic minutiae like the details of sociogenic and iatrogenic harm (e.g., the impact of purity culture vs active gaslighting, or learned helplessness, and so on), there aren't really much data about how attributable they are to different sources (though, to be clear, there is more than enough data contradicting the idea of *inherent* harm, all harm is attributable to sociogenic and iatrogenic sources), but my working hypothesis is that purity culture has a much bigger effect than some people think (largely due to explaining gender differences in outcomes very well)

there were some with more practical implications, for example i used to recommend avoiding those relationships except in very specific circumstances until society and culture improved to prevent sociogenic and iatrogenic harm, but i am generally looser now due to considering the harm avoiding the relationship entirely could also cause (this is analogous to other forms of queer relationships that used to, and to a much lesser extent sometimes still do, put people in danger, simply not being in a relationship is not a harmless option for anyone involved)
