You can't know someone's capacity for thought let alone their reasoning. Often people don't know what they're thinking themselves, we're unconscious of much of our reasoning. I'm very good at explaining my logic to myself after the fact.
There are degrees to limiting beliefs & the most limiting seem to be the hardest to see.
