ah that's interesting.
Yes when the laptop isn't connected to the monitor, I just use the trackpad. When I connect it up, I indeed have a mouse with a scroll wheel connected via the in-monitor USB hub.
The laptop alone has the invisible scrollbars, that take up no space, that only show up overlaid when swiping the trackpad.
When it's all hooked up, the scrollbars are visible all the time, with a gutter underneath.
So is it then based on the human interface devices connected to it?
