I don't really buy this excuse.
How does the hosting company find out what you're hosting on their server? It's not like they do surprise inspections...
The answer is - invariably - that you reveal the IP address of that server and then Trantifa starts a smear and/or DDoS campaign against the provider.
But what if you DON'T reveal the IP address? That's what Cloudflare is designed for, to keep that IP address hidden.
Now I get it that often you need something that Cloudflare doesn't do, like federation, or mail sending, etc. USE A GODDAMN VPN.
You can have dozens of these things lined up, and if one gets killed off, you failover instantly. None of this is rocket science...
