I’ve been meaning to post this 23min podcast for a while now.
If you put effort into recycling, it may interest you.
My son and I just did some volunteer work with our church in Denver last year.
—I was blown away by how much of what I thought I knew about recycling was completely wrong or just bullshit.
TLDR:
—Always recycle metal it’s easy and getting new metal is an awful process.
—Paper and glass are a wash because they're nearly as easy to produce as to recycle.
—Plastic is probably better in a landfill.
Or better yet, it's really better to avoid plastic by focusing on the Reduce & Reuse rather than the Recycle.
That recycle logo you see on plastic is a lie. Numbers 1 & 2 are the only ones that can be recycled and even those are usually thrown away at the recycling center because there’s no incentive to do it. (Expensive)
