Coming from someone who has an electric unicycle, electric scooters are death traps.
I've seen people flying down roads on these with no gear; no real helmet, not even a bike helmet.
These things have like 8" wheels and zero suspension. If you hit a pothole you're a meat crayon.
I'm surprised no one does, but a kick bike with a hub motor and (at minimum platform-) suspension would be /way/ safer AND you could go faster.
