For me personally Bitcoin is the black pill and Monero is the white pill.
When I look at Bitcoin, I see an ambitious project that started with its heart in the right place. But over the years it got captured and corrupted.
Then there is the little sibling of Bitcoin named Monero. It saw what happened to the older one and tried to learn from its mistakes. And so far it seems to me, that it got most stuff mostly right. There were a few lessons learned on the way, but overall Monero gives me hope. Hope that we can fight back against the giant machinery that tries to crush us all. Hope that all that it takes is a few courageous rebels, that uphold their ambitious values and fight for them.
