"content": " Education is key:\n\nLast week, Charlie had the wonderful opportunity to give a lecture in the Sustainability and Environmental Management degree program.\n\nAt the beginning, the mood was noticeably reserved many people initially perceive Bitcoin mining as nothing more than an energy guzzler without any real societal benefit. \nAn absolutely understandable attitude, especially in this field.\n\nAs the evening progressed, however, perspectives opened up: Mining proved to be surprisingly versatile as a flexible electricity consumer, for meaningfully monetizing curtailment under §13k EnWG, for utilizing waste heat in district heating networks, or for stabilizing the power grid.\n\nA healthy dose of skepticism remained, but the students were visibly fascinated by the many sustainable areas in which Bitcoin mining is already making valuable contributions today. \n\nIt’s exactly these shifts in perspective that make such events so enriching A heartfelt thank you to Uwe Holzhammer for the invitation and to the dedicated students for the open and lively discussion. \n\nWe’d be happy to come back anytime! \n\n#Sustainability #EnvironmentalManagement #BitcoinMining #Energy #PowerGrid\n\n\nhttps://blossom.primal.net/1bd2d2628508b225a56aef4ecd1b887f9e01133cc3f3ae640c33f6f5357d244d.png ",
