About:
ZazaPay is a Ghana-built Bitcoin-to-fiat payment platform that makes Bitcoin usable in everyday African money systems. A sender pays in Bitcoin over the Lightning Network; the recipient does not need a wallet, an exchange account, or any Bitcoin knowledge.
The platform went live in early 2026 after founder built it in public through the usual hard parts of payments: webhooks, failed transactions, liquidity, and deployment.
Key Objectives:
1. Make Lightning payments usable in daily life by settling Bitcoin invoices in seconds and converting them immediately into spendable local currency.
2. Bridge Bitcoin with mobile money and bank rails so recipients get paid the way they already receive money, especially MTN Mobile Money and bank accounts.
3. Cut the friction in local and cross-border transfers across Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, and additional African markets, without forcing the receiver onto digital assets.
4. Give merchants, freelancers, and families a practical off-ramp so global Bitcoin payments can become cedis, naira, or shillings without chargebacks or banking delays.
5. Widen financial access by letting people send value from anywhere and cash out into the payment systems already used across Africa.
