I am not sure I understand the problem. The 9 digit pin is solely to lock the app on your device.
If I see a monkey with my phone or at my computer I don’t think it will have time to brute force my 9 digit pin.
Besides, my phone has a 6 digit pin, I guess a monkey could unlock it quicker.
