The IAAP certifications have a lot of useful information and context, and I feel they provide a good baseline for accessibility professionals. Plus, IAAP members get some benefits like events.
You can also get all/most of that without IAAP. You can study the book of knowledge without going for a certificate etc, or grow your expertise on your own. Many of the world's most experienced a11y specialists don't have IAAP cert.
