My statement includes things like US employers being able to fire without cause, and even in states that aren't "at will" you don't get several months of notice period even when there's actual cause.
In Europe it's perfectly fine for an employee to go out and protest even if your employer might not like what you're protesting.
Other things are that even if you somehow end up without a job, it's much more difficult here to lose your housing regardless if you're renting or paying mortgages.
