What's the ratio of times where it did hold up? It's easy to cherry pick a few failures to support your own conclusion. And the razor never claims to be absolute in the face of evidence. It's a philosophical guideline. Is the earth flat? Without such a framework, I don't see how one could conclude anything. Imagination and assumptions can always create any narrative outside reality. It isn't perfect, but I think it's a decent framework for comparing the likelihood of competing hypotheses in the absence of conclusive evidence.
