This is true, but invites the wrong attitude. We should be wary of changing our opinions when 1) we are the only ones who hold it (which, if you consider the entire nested structure of opinions, is more often than we think) and 2) it is true (which is hard to tell before we've really tried to push it with all our might).
This is easily one of the most persistent and catastrophic misunderstandings in intellectual life. Intellectuals should be persistant and mule-headed. Embrace a stubborn attitude!
