The first time I ever heard about El Salvador was when this news broke, back in 2021…
I was in my high school classroom, bored, and scrolling twitter when I saw the “Bitcoin Country” headline.
About a year later I visited for the first time with almost no idea what to expect.
Honestly, I didn’t really understand it yet. I was still just a “crypto” guy, half-expecting the whole thing to be one big number-go-up party.
I was completely wrong.
What I found instead were some of the kindest people I had ever met, and a real, living passion for freedom and community.
It was there that I started to understand what it actually means to be a Bitcoiner.
I quickly learned why Bitcoin Beach exists… and why there’s no such thing as “Solana Beach.”
I got to see circular economies in action and realized they are the true backbone of Bitcoin.
My time in El Salvador is a huge part of why I am the Bitcoiner I am today. Without experiencing the country, meeting the people I met, and seeing the truth of what this is really about, I have no idea where I’d be.
Congratulations, El Salvador!🇸🇻
It’s amazing everything you’ve accomplished in the past five years. To this day, there is no better place in the world to go if you want to see for yourself what Bitcoin is actually all about. You are, and always will be, BITCOIN COUNTRY.
