well, it worked, kind of.

i totally forgot how long the damn prologue is, smh
i’m using wine, not proton (steam proton to be exact)
the game wouldn’t play the opening mp4 file, it’d just hang indefinitely. had to enable the “skip movie” or whatever option, and then close and open the game
the patch allows widescreen display, which works quite well for the most part, until you reach a scene that has all sorts of visual effects and rotating images and red screen and whatever else. it’s better to just play it on the default 4:3 aspect ratio instead
don’t fuck around with the menubar too much. if you do, eventually the application will stop receiving any inputs from you and you have to do some kind of random shit in order to restore any input feedback. again, faster to just close and open the game again
