Xiaomi has revealed its SkyNomad N70 and N90 SUVs in China, positioning them as unusually feature-rich alternatives to Western luxury models. The extended-range plug-in hybrids use a 1.5-liter engine as a generator, dual electric motors and battery packs. The entry N70 Pro starts at RMB 209,900, roughly $31,000, while the seven-seat N90 Max Studio costs about $44,700 and adds a pop-up camper roof, heated flooring, a projector and sleeping space.
The vehicles also include lidar, high-definition cameras, Nvidia’s Thor-U chip and claimed Level 2-plus autonomous driving capability. Xiaomi says the SUVs can travel more than 300 miles electrically and up to 1,000 miles combined under China’s CLTC test cycle, with charging from 20 to 80 percent in as little as 18 minutes. The company plans a European launch in 2027, raising competitive pressure on established automakers.
