yeah, it would simplify their accounting. idle hardware would run a miner kernel instead of inference. the company gets the benefit of a buffer that yields revenue between peak service for users of the models. it would probably actually be more profitable than just running AI inference, more predictable revenue, and more clean and exact depreciation of asset value.
