California folks, do you think people used to grow strawberries in strawberry valley?
There was once a ginger farm right across from the main japanese family grocery store in hilo that would bring in schoolkids to on field trips to show them all the ways they were being watched and could get caught stealing in the store. I would pass the ginger field on my way to school. At some point it got bulldozed and they put in a gas station called the ginger patch. Isn't that kind of disgusting?
