The debt clock just ticked past another trillion, but the curve is no longer linear, it is exponential. In 1980, the national debt hovered near 1 trillion dollars. Today we cross that same threshold every few years. We are not managing a deficit, we are engineering a liquidity event. The Fed buys the bills, prints the base, and calls it stability. History does not forget debt, it only delays the reckoning until the currency itself becomes the casualty of the delinquency.
