Meta’s AI app Muse recorded 1.8 million iOS downloads in the United States and Canada during its first 12 days, compared with 1.3 million for ChatGPT over the same period, according to third-party analytics firm Apptopia. The comparison uses the same iOS markets and launch window, although Muse is also available on Android while ChatGPT initially launched on iOS only.
Muse reached 2.8 million installs worldwide in its first 12 days. In the United States, it had an estimated 642,000 daily active users, versus 231,000 for ChatGPT at the equivalent stage; on iOS alone, Muse had 359,000. More than 95% of Muse users also use Facebook and 63% use Instagram, giving Meta substantial cross-promotion potential. Meta has not released its own figures, so the numbers remain estimates.
