For me, I just disagree with the premise, but I think that's because I don't want nostr to be something that someone else may want it to be.

The network effect for mass social media of this type is already owned by a bunch of apps.

And Nostr is more than just a Twitter clone. It's a protocol that you can use to transmit data through relays. And that has use cases that Twitter can't even touch.

I am glad that it's just my eccentric little group of relatively anonymous online friends and not an algorithm feeding me the same garbage every day.

I think (after scolding, Marty Bent for staying on the X platform) Matt Odell ended up re-establishing his presence on X claiming it was in part because Nostr had failed.

This actually made me laugh, but I understand it's missing something that he wants or had on Twitter. It's not doing what his vision for the protocol should do. And to be honest, I don't think that matters.

At least for now, Nostr is less like an addictive influencer infested platform than it is something like ham radio, which is an esoteric geeky wasteland to a certain extent, but it's still important, and so is this protocol.
