This all goes back to SoV, MoE, MoA and which comes first.
Realistically it's SoV first, but we need to be working on MoE in parallel. Right now fiat and shitcoins are more convenient, but the trade offs are unacceptable over the long run.
This process will take time. In the meantime it seems that nostr is at the forfront of MoE with lightning and ecash. The recent square move was a big help, but I would love to see more user friendly low fee options for private wallets. For example, right now my minibits wallet is failing to connect to NWC for some reason, which seems to happen randomly without explanation. There have been some advancements in the last few years, but we aren't ready for normies to use bitcoin yet.
NGU could bring funding to these kinds of projects. It's up to us to prioritize them.
