I don't believe it would turn into an armed conflict, more of a legal thing working out the separation between provincial, federal & First Nations parties. This isn't unprecedented in Canadian history, and there is actually process for it in the Canadian Constitution. Quebec has had referendums on separation twice, in 1980 & 1995. In '95 it almost passed, but was declined by a small margin, 50.5% no to 49.5% yes. I remember 95 clearly, it was always taken as fact that if the vote passed QC would become it's own country.
