Damn, you pulled the argument from underneath the sarcasm rug, sir. Well said.

I'm not lamenting here. There's a reason I'm pointing at a specific philosopher(s). Because there are actual arguments underneath absurd statements like this.
God is a Lobster, or a double pincer, a double bind.

- Deleuze and Guattari, A Thousand Plateaus, 10,000 B.C.: The Geology of Morals (Who Does the Earth Think It Is?)
The same Professor Challenger who made the Earth scream with his pain machine, as described by Arthur Conan Doyle, gave a lecture after mixing several textbooks on geology and biology in a fashion befitting his simian disposition. He explained that Earth—the Deterritorialized, the Glacial, the giant Molecule—is a body without organs. This body without organs is permeated by unformed, unstable matters, by flows in all directions, by free intensities or nomadic singularities, by mad or transitory particles.

This particular chapter actually isn't something to break into pieces and analyze. It's a giant, dense ball of flowing words clustering together at different speeds where the experience of engaging with the text opens up into the argument. I know their work resists being summarized, and out of context highlights mean just about nothing to anyone else reading it. And yet, I still do. For a multitude of reasons - from the epistemics and metaphysics of what it points to, to the performance of highlighting obtuse phrases, to the insanity of the prose itself.
