libertas primordium on Nostr: ...

Wherever you find love my man, take the leap!

I met my third wife on a dating app. I wasn't at all interested in her at first glance but she kept viewing my profile and the app kept snitching on her for looking at me. She was too far away, about a 5.5 hour drive, and she was a bit bigger than the moderately plump girls that I like to date. I ignored her for several weeks.

About the twelfth time the app snitched on her for viewing my profile, I decided to say hi because it was a lazy Sunday morning and I wanted to have a chat. The very first thing I told her was that she was too far away to date, but we could chat if she wanted.

We ended up texting back and forth constantly the entire day, and then talked on the phone for about 4-5 hours until around 2am. Same thing the next day, and the next day... The conversation didn't grow stale. Then we started video chatting. She worked from home and I had a very slow job so we would video chat all day during and after work.

After a few weeks and probably a couple hundred hours worth of talking to each other, I made the drive out to see her for a long weekend. Yes we did the dirty deed the very first night.

Pretty soon I was spending about half my time out there at her place. After a couple months of all this driving back and forth we talked about it and decided I should just move in with her. I packed up my apartment and made the move.

At this point I had already decided that I was going to marry her, and soon bought a beautiful ring. I waited a few months to propose even though I had already made up my mind. You gotta create the right time for that, and I wanted to make sure I wasn't being crazy and impulsive, but our personalities were just so compatible and we were very in love.

Anyway I did propose and we set a date for June of the next year. It hasn't all been bliss. We've had our disagreements of course but we're always able to talk it out until we reach an understanding that we're both ok with.

The point of this whole story is you never know when and where you're going to find the right person. I've been in two other marriages where I kind of just settled out of convenience, or a feeling of trapped obligation. Don't do that. Also don't be afraid to reach out and connect with somebody. Don't be afraid to open up and let people get to know you while you get to know them.
