I mean, it's similar to the US: you have Dems and GOP and about half the population believes the GOP is literally Hitler and the Dems are giving people free stuff because they are great, while the other [almost] half believes the Dems are literally Satan and bombing Iran for Jews is great. And then you have a few outliers that realize that it's all fake and gay.
In Argentina's case, price control is pretty much exclusively a "Dems" thing and they were in power at the time. The incumbents are Libertarians (at least in name, not sure if in reality) so they are very much against price control.
