I live in a place where you can't get behind the wheel without knowing the traffic situation, unless you want to add potentially 1+ hr to your trip...
In any case, it's gotten me thinking about these data sources... I think that some municipalities actually track traffic patterns via sensor, independent of Google?
It also suggests (ironically perhaps for the libertarian-minded Nostr audience) a shift to more public transportation, where arrival and departure times are generally real-time free API's provided by transit agencies.
